Engine Performance problem
1999 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 90,000 miles
My wife drives a 1999 Ford Windstar and we have been having a reoccuring problem. It seems when she drives from work to home without stops its ok. The problem lies when she has been driving around town, running errands, stops/starts, etc. If she goes to restart the car it will not start (engine turns over, almost sounds like a fuel pump issue when its doing it). I took it to a shop and they tested fuel pressure and everything tested ok. They tried to simulate the problem but couldnt. If we leave the car alone for a couple of hours it will start again (cool down perhaps?) The check engine light is on but I havent read the codes yet. The last time it was a lean bank reading (02 sensor). Would an 02 sensor cause the car to not start? The first time this happened we let the car sit for 15-20 minutes and it started. The last time (the other day) we left the car in a grocery store parking lot overnight and it started (would not restart after an hour or two). Any help would be appreciated as its driving me crazy!
have the same problem?
