1995 Ford Windstar Idles Rough

My engine idle goes up and down and I have to give it gas in neutrel yo keep it going. When it idles it has a strong odor but does not smoke. When driving if I give it a little gas you can feel the engine hesitating and has kind of a jerking back and forth. It is like it isn't getting enough fuel. When I am in neutrel it revs good its just as youlet off the gas is when it runs up and down. As soon as you put it in gear it wants to stall. Any help please

Inspect and test all the following listed below:

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
False air leakage.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.
