Engine Performance problem
1996 Ford Windstar 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 119K miles

The engine idles rough and will stall when I start it first thing in the AM.

I had frequent rough idle which was corrected when I found a vacuum line I left disconnected. Now, when the engine is cold, it still acts like it has the vacuum leak. After a few minutes of operation it is fine.

Plugs and plug wires were replaced 12 months ago.

Engine running rough or misfiring can be cause by the following:

1. Defective spark plug
2. Inadequate spark/coil, defective spark plug wire.
3. Lack of compression
4. False air leakage.
5. Faulty fuel injectors.
6. Insufficient fuel pressure.
7. Contaminated fuel.
8. EGR valve that is leaking.
9. Oxygen sensors.
10. Throttle position sensor.
11. Idle air control valve.
