I`m in the process of putting rear wheel bearings in my truck. I`m debating whether I should weld my worn axles and then turn them in the lathe to save money or just pick up a set either from the junk yard or off of the internet. I have 236000 miles on it and despite the cash for clunkers I am still planning on keeping it. Thanks

I just went to the junkyard and got both axels for $30 it gave me a chance to see what I had to take apart and they both look fine, it will be more than $30 to do the work on the weld, so consider recycling
