1978 Ford Truck losing power to coil on a 78 Ford f 100

My truck is losing power to the coil and will not start. I tried running a power wire from the (+) termanal on the coil to the battery and that usually got it started but now that is not working. I tried putting in a new coil and it still will not start.M

Doing that with the jumper wire means you have an open circuit to the ignition switch. Now won't start at all-start checking the coil, distributor pick coil and ignition module
