The transmission is fine first thing in the morning when we first use the car and will do fine aslong as we dont turn the car off. But if you start up and go before the car cools down it will not shift into the higer gear 1st is good 2nd is good and reverse work fine all the time

A strange one?I assume fluid level is normal(check while running/parked). The trans has no electrical internal parts to fail hot so all that's left is the kickdown mechanism which is rod from throttle down to arm on trans by shift cable mechanism. It can become disconnected and cause shift problems or it's set wrong(adjustable). If this dont help, keep trying to refine the problem/symptoms.
