My Taurus GL is 1995, since last week, it started whining when I removed my foot from gas pedal, until it slowed quite down. Also whenever I step gas pedal even a little bit, the whinning goes away. Anyone knows this problem?Any information is appreciated.

First thing I would suggest to try is to go to the auto parts store and get a can of belt dressing. Spray it on the belt and see if the noise goes away. If it does it means that your belt is worn out and needs replacement. If it doesn't go away then you probably have an accessory drive that is starting to go bad. Try turning on alot of electrical stuff and see if the squeeling gets worse, if so it is the alternator going bad. Next pull your belt off and try turning different accessories to see if anyone of them has play or is worn out, don't forget to check your idler pulley and belt tensioner pulleys since they have small bearings in them that do go bad. Replace any of them that may be questionalble. Good luck.
