1995 Ford Taurus SHO with 185,000. Only 200 miles on rebuilt V-8 enigine. I can't shift my car out of park without going through the alternate steps listed in the manual and the brake lights dont work. I replace the fuse which unlocked the gear shifter which is in the middle console, but still no brake lights. After a few hours, the fuse must have blown again because now the gear shifter won't go. It's not the transmission. I seem to have an electrical issue. Anyway I can take of this in my driveway?

Yes you can, the brake light switch located on the brake pedal sounds like it went bad, but the other switch called a boo brake on off switch may have also failed, the parts are cheap and real easy to replace, the brake light switch is the one to start with, this will fix the lights and possibly the shift interlock but you wont know until its replaced

thanks
