2005 Ford Taurus Engine Starting

The engine cranks over, but will not start. Let the key off and re-try that seems to work but is getting progressivly worse. You are having to do this up to six times for the engine to turn over and fire. Besides the pressure regulator is there anything else to check.

Suspect fuel pump
do a fuel pressure check
good luck
