Hi, I've had my Taurus Wagon since '04 and never had this problem before. It began a few weeks ago with the Check Engine & ABS lights coming on and stalling. Now the Theft light is coming on, all the dashboard lights come on and the rpms drop as though it's going to stall or it does just stall. My husband has the exact same car (year & make) but his is the Sedan and his car started doing the exact same things about 2 weeks after mine. Ideas? We don't have a Ford dealership in town to take it to and the mechanic we talked to here just scratched his head. Getting frustrated and feeling unsafe to drive the cars.

My husband had put on about 3 alternators in 4 months. We then took to small local repair place & he said it was PCM and to take to dealer. We took to dealer & had them run diagnostics again to make sure. They said it was alternator, so we spent $$ for a new one. Guess what. Same exact thing happened 2 days later starting with the ABS light first then the rest then car dies. We jumped it and he brought it home & set up on charger until we could get back to dealer. They ran more tests then said it was PCM like the original place said. So, they put our old alternator back on & we spent more $$ for a PCM and not even 24 hours later the EXACT same thing happened. Car going back to dealer for 3rd time now for same thing. HELP? Until we can get it to dealer, my husband has to put it on a charger every night. As I was laid off over a year ago and am now going through breast cancer treatment, so needless to say we have no $$$ to keep spending on this. Thanks!
