Hi
My wife has a 2002 Ford Taurus automatic with 78,000 miles. Sometimes when she goes shopping the car wont start when she returns to her car. When she tries starting the car like an hour later it starts ok.
My mechanic put her car on a diagnostic machine but nothing came up as a problem.
It seams to happen when the outside tempertures are around 95 deg.
Does anybody know what the problem could be?
Thanks
Ralph

Try replacing the Crankshaft position sensor, seems to be a problem in some makes! Fords only cost about 15.00!

Hi
Thanks for your time. I'm having it looked at today. I did a search and replacing the cps was more involved that I hoped.
I'll let you know how I made out.
Thanks again
Ralph

Thanks everybody who replied. I had the car looked at and it turns out it needed a new fuel pump, fuel filter and new relays. It ended up costing me 941.00 in which 440.00 was the labor charge, used (OEM parts). The guy who fixed it said most of the time was finding the problem.
I'm it a bad position here and I need to decide whos going to be my mechanic. My regular mechanic couldn't find the problem when he had the car. So I took it to another mechanic who found the problem. I don't understand why it took so long to find the problem in the first place.
I have no problem paying someone for there time, I just don't want to be taken for a ride.
