Steering problem
2002 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles

my car has made a whining noise since I bought it about 6 months ago. Since then I have replaced the power steering pump and reservoir and it still makes the same noise. I know its in the steering because it doesnt steer as easy as it should and the noise gets louder when I turn the wheel. What could it be and how do I fix it? Thanks

This is a very common problem. Based on what you have said, the replacement pump was an aftermarket remanufactured pump. The only fix that I have seen is replacing it with an OEM pump.
