2002 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Can the anti theft be bypassed? I have a key new key cut from the Ford Dealer but it has to be coded, so they say. Can I bypass it so that I can atleast make sure it runs before I take it to them to be recoded? I was doing a major repair to the tranny and I wanna make sure it is running before I spend more money getting it coded. Thank you

Fords, PATS sytem is very involved and it would be very difficult to explain how to bypass it. You'll need wiring diagrams and specialty tools to do so and if you get the wires wrong you can fry your pcm or starter, my advice would be to get your key made and take your chances.
