2002 Ford Taurus - Idle Problem

2002 Ford Taurus SE 118,000 km - 3.0 l V6 Vehicle when first placed in drive (or reverse), whether warm or cold, engine surges (bucks) when idling. RPM will fluctuate between 800 and 1200.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a 200 ford taurus doing same thing. Have your vacuum hose check near the tranny. Probably a torn hose. Hose is only about $5.

Hey James,

If it was mine, I would first check for codes. It wouldn't surprize me if there isn't a carbon build up in the IAC motor. But I would still start with codes.
