My car door will not shut, I have to manually flip the thing on the door to get it to shut.

Sometimes even that will not work
Do you
have the same problem?

Hi:
If you have oiled it and it still doesn't work, chances are the latch assembly needs replaced. This isn't a very common problem, but it does happen. If it is temp sensitive you may have grease in the latch that is freezing, causing it not to work properly. WD-40 sprayed into the latch will usually help this

When ever its cold out side my driver side door wont close. When I warm it up after about 20 min it will close but I am wasting a lot of gas and i'm wondering if there's anything I can do different so that the door will close with out wasting so much gas

My car does the exact same thing when it's cold outside
i noticed that I can stick my finger in where the latch is and move it down and it will close, the latch just gets stuck
so if you play with it for a few minutes, it should close
at least, that's what I did

Interior problem
2006 Ford Taurus Engine Size unknown Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 45000 miles

We own a 2006 ford taurus power window and locks. A week ago my husband put the drivers side door down for his drive home from work. When he got home the window went up cock-eyed. So he and a neighbor pulled it up and I was given instructions not to put it down until we could get it fixed.

Now two weeks later after dropping my daughter off from school, I get home, get out of the car and the door wouldn't close. I shut it and it pops back open. I shut and held it there and it pops back open. Finally I locked the car shut it and it stay'd closed.

What is wrong with the family car and how much do you think it will cost to fix as we are on a tight budget do to medical expenses.

Inside the door is a set of thin metal rods between the door handles and locks to the latch, one of them or more got bent when the window problem occured, Go buy the trim panel removal tool, remove the panel, straighten the rods, and you can even repair the window.
