Can you provide me detailed "how to" instructions on replacing the blower fan resistor on my Ford Taurus. My mechanic wants to charge me $125 and the part is only $20 so I'd like to see if its something I can do myself. Thanks!

Then I don't know why the price is so high. It's a 1/2 hour job tops. Two screws and unplug the wire. The labor should be around $40. Your part is a little low though. Your probably getting some Chinese junk for that price.

REMOVAL

1. Remove the right-side instrument panel insulator.

2. Remove the blower motor resistor.

1 Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Remove the screws.
3 Remove the blower motor resistor.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

That does sound easy which is great! I don't have an extra $100 to spend.

I'll show my ignorance. Where is this instrument "insulator". Under the hood (if so, where should I look there) or inside the cabin (same question).

The part is coming from O'Rielly Auto Parts. I'll see if that have an OEM version.

Thanks for the help!
