I am hearing a groaning noise while driving. I do not hear the noise when idling. I turned off the radio and the a/c to make sure that they were not causing noise. Noise sounds like a light "roaring" or a fan motor. Car runs like normal but I am afraid this is the warning for something. Please help.

Does the sound change with speed or when turning?

The sound does not change with turning. The sound changes - seems to get louder when coasting at 45 mph - no acceleration but just taking foot off gas.

Check and make sure the current tires are not cupped or worn unevenly? It almost sounds like a bad wheel bearing. If the tires are good, check for excessive play in the wheels.

Let me know what you find.
