2001 Ford Taurus Car feel likes it wants to lock up.

My car is a 2001 Ford Taurus, It's got about 105,500 miles on it. I drove it fine yesterday and today I turn it on like normally it runs fine in park, but then I switch to reverse to back up and my car feels like it's wanting to lock up, and the car wants to stop running so I shift it to drive, same problem. I then put it back in park and it runs normally, what could my problem be?

It could be a torque converter clutch that is not releasing or a planetary gearset ready to self destruct. There are other possibilities, but these are the most likely.
