Heater problem
2000 Ford Taurus Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, I am having trouble with the hvac control panel switch. Although the blower will turn on, the ventilation options don't work when I switch from a/c to heat or both. I don't hear any vacuum motor functioning, so its always blowing to the floor and defroster. Vacuum lines are intact, and there is vacuum from the engine to the tube prior to entering the passenger compartment, but no vacuum into the passenger compartment.

That is what is causing the problem. Have you tried removing the old vacuum line? THere has to be a break where it goes through the firewall into the passanger compartment.

Let me know what you find and what you have done.

I haven't found where it enters the firewall - it looks like it snakes down into the wheel well somewhere. I may have to remove the front passenger-side wheel.

But what I did, was disconnect the hose in the passenger compartment, and sucked on the hose in the direction of the firewall, and I cannot draw air through it.
