1999 Ford Taurus wont work

Steering problem
1999 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently changed a transmission out of a '99 ford taurace and replaced it with a transmission out of a '94. Now the power steering wont work at all and the only thing it does is let the steering wheel spin freely with no resistance and the wheels not turning.

Check if the u joint on the steering shaft came apart
