1999 Ford Taurus SE, 3.0L 24V. Cruise Control does not set. Looked up fuse and is tied to Stop Lights. Power appears to be getting to steering wheel control switches. "Cruise" light on dash flashes when "SET/ACCEL" or "Resume" switches are pressed. Only occasionally sets and/or sets and accelerates.

Battery replaced and key code lost. Manual says code taped to control module. Which one and where? Thanks

Hi Marty3044,

Regarding the cruise control intermittent working, I would suggest checking the brake pedal switch and its clearance with pedal.

As for the code, sorry I am unable to assist, hope some one else can.

Thanks for reply. Cruise control problem appears to be temperature related. Works fine until engine compartment heats up. In AZ that means really hot. It can engage again, such as brake applied to disengage, after engine compartment cools down after about 30 Min setting or driving.

Key codes for Keyless entry cannot be found from VIN at dealer. However, if you can find someone small enough to crawl under dash, it is on the control module.

FYI - If you have a security key for ignition, you will need to have at least two (2) good keys before you can program a third. If only one key then it is a trip to the dealer for about $75 - $125.
