I HAD THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT COME ON AND IT IS READING PO503. I NEED TO KNOW WHERE THIS VSS SENSOR IS LOCATED ON A 1998 FORD TAURUS. I HAVE HEARD THERE CAN BE UP TO 6 SENSORS. DOES THE CODE PO503 SPECIFY THE SENSOR OR DO I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP TO FIND OUT WHAT SENSOR IS BAD. THE CAR IS SLIPPING IN SECOND AND THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE ONLY CODE THAT CAME UP WAS PO503. THANKS, PAT

Speed sensor its at the end of tranny by the right axle

I have had one to go out. It's on the passenger side of the transaxle, just below the exhaust manifold. I had to lay on top of the engine and reach behind the engine to change it.
