1998 Ford Taurus Door ajar and interior lights

1998 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My friend got out of the car and the door ajar light and interior lights stayed on. There is an alarm, but I think its disconnected. I have to disconnect the battery to keep the lights off. When I reconnect it, the lights go on. Is there something I can do to stop this?

Suspect faulty or sticking door ajar switch. Try lubricating each door latch with some WD 40 and work the WD 40 in really good by working it in with the latch. If it doesnt help you will have to test each ajar switch to see which is faulty and needs replaced

Thanks so much guys. However, when I was checking each door, then connected the battery to see if it when on. It didnt! It was prob just stuck or cold. I'll def keep you in mind and tell my friends about you and your quick, smart responses!
