1997 Ford Taurus Power steering cutting out

my 97 taurus' radio began to cut out when I would put the car in reverse. Now it has began cutting out in all gears except neutral and since this began my seat belt light will come on even though the seat belt is fastened and more importantly, the power steering pump stops working. Is this being caused by a short or are the issues unrelated?

Check belt if slipping and check and suspect short circuit in wiring harness
check alternator out put and under load
