1997 Ford Taurus Interior Light and Door Locks

The problem we're having is with the Interior light and the door locks. (Could it be the Relay?)

When the car starts the interior light turns on as does the panel light for the doors showing the doors open. Initially we are unable to turn the interior light off or lock the doors. Once we start driving the locks lock themselves and the Panel light turns off. The interior light is another story and is vary erratic. The light sometime stays on for a long time and once we park the car and leave it eventually turns off.

Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

First thing I would do is to lubricate the door latches heavily with a thin lube such as wd-40 and open and close the doors 15-20 times and lube again. Most likely this will remedy the problem.
