My car had been acting up, one day it would start the next it wouldn't. I replaced the battery since I had no idea how old it was that seemed to correct the problem, now its starting to ack up again, one day it starts the next it won't, I was told the alternator is good, what else could it be? Is it possible I have a sensor going out, or a short somewhere?

The problem needs diagnosing when it happens.

IF it does nothing when the key is turned it is in the the starting system most likley-ignition switch, neutral saftey, starter etc.

IF the engine turns over but doesn't start, something is causing a lack of spark, fuel and or compression at the right time.
