Put new starter in. Started and turnt over now won't start nor turn over. If alternater is no good would this keep car from starting. Had friend alternator went out in his pickup put new battery in and still wouldn't turn over

If the battery is charged, the alt shouldn't cause the starter to not work. Is the starter working at all?

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying it was hooked up to a tractor trailer? I believe they have a 24 volt system which will fry your electrical system.

Let me know.

It was one battery only 12 volt. But it might of still been too many amps. Most tractor trailors have from 4 to 6 batteries but don't understand why turnt over once but now won't. Could be possible to put the right battery in it will start and run. Or is there something electrictal wrong. Guy helping tried to say cam froze, since turnt over. Don't buy it was turning over good till hot wire of his jumper cable got hot. Starter turns over fine out of car. Please help me get this darn thing running

I do my best to help. I need you to check something for me. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire on the starter. It should get 12 volts. Let me know what you find. Also, check all fuses under the hood in the power disrtibution center.
