1995 Ford Taurus Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hi I have the belt off the car but I don't know which way to loosen the nut. To change the pully. When I go to the right it swings the tensioner so I don't know to go left or right. Please help

To loosten the nut, turn it counter clockwise.

If you are turning the nut and its moving the tensioner you are on the wrong nut. The tensioner pulley has a nut through it but you will notice it is part of a houseing there is another bolt that holds this to the block and that is the bolt you need to loosen. (Counter clockwise)

It's me again. In your original post, you mentioned that you are replacing the pulley. The last post was regarding the tensionier removal. What the person said is correct; however, that is if you are replacing the entire tensionier and not just the pulley. Let me know which it is so I can guide you.
