Shakes or Wobbles problem
1995 Ford Taurus Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 181627 miles

Yesterday my car was perfectly fine. Drove well. This morning I started it and when it was idling it was shaking. I checked all my fluids and they are fine. When I started driving it, it was okay. It would shake when I would stop at a light and when I got to my destination I noticed a faint smell. It wasn't pungent or rubbery. It wasnt radiator related either. (Another car I had had a bad radiator, so I am familiar with that smell) I need to know what I am up against because I have a limited budget. If I have an idea before hand I could rearrange things so I can afford the repair. Please help ASAP!

You may have a vacuum leak, get a can of spray gumout, spray the vac lines and maniflod area, when the idle changes, youve found the leak! You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs!

Or the Idle air control valve, bolted to the throttle body needs cleaning or replacing.
