My wife usually drives the taurus SHO, but when I drove it on the highway the other day I noticed it wouldnt go into overdrive. It would stay in drive. Shifts through all the other gears just fine. What might this me? A fuse or relay?

Have someone read the codes for you, or for about 30 bucks or so you can get yourself a obdI scan tool, easy to use. A lot of trans codes will not turn on the check engine lamp. But will store a code in the continous memory. If the trans is not shifting when commanded to do so, most likely some sort of code is set. Could be a shift solenoid possibly, not sure. There is also a way to read the codes by jumping terminals in the obdI connector in the engine compartment, you then read the blinking check engine lamp.
