I have a 2004 ranger. The ignition is stuck and I can't figure out why. DO I need to replace the ignition assembly? Does anyone know of anywhere on the internet where I can find a diagram of the steering column and/or ignition assembly

I ended up buying a new ignition cylinder from the dealer. The old one is supposed to easily slide out, but because it was stuck in the off position I couldn't turn the ignition part way to release the old cylinder. So I ended up drilling out the old ignition enough that it came free and then just slipped in the new ignition. It was a simple repair, the worst part was my hesitancy to take a drill and start the drilling, but it all worked out fine. My old ignition had a broken spring in one of the tumblers.

Congrats on the fix. :)
I ran into that on my wifes 81 mustang before cordless drills were out. Must have ran 300 feet of extension cord.

Happy motoring.
