Ranger High Oil Pressure

For whatever reason my oil pressure guage on my engine is reading that I have abnormally high oil pressure on a 94 ranger with a four liter. It stayes between the H and the L on the end of "normal". As it rises the engine tempture slowly rises once the pressure stops rising. It seems to me a port somewhere must be blocked becaue when I turn the engine off and on it slowly rises back to that place on the pressure guage. If this is a correct diagnosis how do you go about unpluggin the engine?

Firsts you have to decide if it is an oil pump problem or a sending unit problem. Have the oil pressure checked with an analog gauge. It will tell what you need to replace Good luck

I just had the motor out. It wasnt doing this and then once I put it back in it all of the sudden did this. I am going to do a gauge test and get back to you.
