Hello Everyone: I am asking for a friend of mine who has a 1999 ford ranger lxt with 6 cylinders. His one brake light went out and I told him it is best to replace both at the same time, because the other one could go any day too! What we want to know it what kind of bulb's do we look for when buying them at pep boys or where ever?
Also, I noticed there are only two screws on the plastic cover that houses the light bulbs. Is it easy to change these bulbs, never did it before, Thank You, Tom

You have two bulbs in your rear tail lamps. One is the "Back-up" bulb which is a number 3156. And then you have your" brake/tail light bulb" and it is number 3157.

1. Remove the light assembly srews, there are four (4) of them, two on the outside part of the len's, and two in the inside. The tailgate must be opened to access the inside screw's.
2. Take the tail lamp assembly out.
3. Rotate the bulb socket to align the lug's and take the socket out of the housing.
4. Carefully pry off the retaining clip and pull the bulb out of the socket.
5. Installation is the reverse.
