70000 Miles, 4 wheel drive, auto, 4.0 V6
I have a rattle at a couple different times. When I accelerate hard, at the upshift it will rattle pretty violently. It also rattles when I am coasting at about 2000-2300 rpm. What might cause that and how could I fix it?

Light tinny rattle or heavier metallic rattle?

Like Marbles in a tin can?

Uniform with the rpm, or indifferent to the rpm?

More of a heavy metallic rattle, usually uniform with the rpm. It rattles hard at the upshift after a good acceleration, and when driving and coasting around 2000-2300 rpm

Sounds like an engine ping. The combustion chambers ignite just before they are suppossed to. Ihave a 3.0 that does it from time to time.
