I have a 2002 Ford Ranger XLT v6. Last week the "Check Engine" light came on and will not go off. The light is solid and stays on immediately after starting the truck. I had the auto shop teacher at the school I work at hook up the truck to the computer scanner to get the error code of the problem.
The reading bought back two codes. The first was a p1127 which is regarding the exhaust not warm enough. I don't think this is anything to be concerned about??
The second code was a p1464 which I looked up to be "AC Demand out of range". I don't understand what this means, the AC appears to be working fine. Is this something I should be concerned about. Please, any advise given would be appreciated.

Hummm The A/C light is meaningless unless the alternator out put is low and then sometimes it will set that code. You could have ba bad catalytic converter. the best thing is to get a pro with a scanner and read the data stream it tells all. Good luck
