I have an 88 ford ranger 2wd with around 14,000 miles on a rebuilt engine- and was wanting to know what is causing the front brakes to majorly lock up?

I had this happen on my 89 Ford Ranger.
I had to replace both the calipers and the rubber hoses that connect from the metal lines to the caliper. My understanding of what happens is that the rubber hoses wear out over time and begin to deposit debris such as small rubber fragments that get into the cylinders of the calipers which cause them to lock up. I would change both the calipers and the hoses. Also the 14,000 miles on OD is probably either 114,000 or 214,000. I think mine has
174,000 on it but it reads 74,000. Hope all this helps
