On the front of the engine sitting on top of the thermistat housing are the two temperature sensors, one with a gray cap plug and the other with an orange cap plug. Which one goes to the computer and which one goes to the guage on the dash? They are both sandwitched in there pretty good so I cannot simply pull the plug and see which one does what. Thanks

PS If you can answer this you will have done better that 8 different dealerships in the Sacramento Area.

First let me say that they both go to the computer and the computer feeds the gauge. But I believe the orange plug is the gauge. The other is the fan control switch. Ford did this so that the fan control could be a safety in case the gauge sender quit responding correctly. But the dealer should be able to identify which is which. The plug configuration is different also.
