2001 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The truck will crank some times but will not start the fuel pump is also running when I crank it, also some times it wont even crank and it has a brand new battery in it what could it be?

Have you checked to see if it is getting spark?

So many people refer to the word "crank" as starting. I wasn't sure what you were refering to.

AS far as the cranking, when you have this problem, have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check for power to the smaller wire at the starter. Let me know what you find.
