How do I replace the whole cable assembly? It seems at first glance that the wires connect to the block somewhere? Is this something I should leave to a repair shop? Thanks Jared

Your battery cables run to several different places including the alternator, starter, engine block (for ground) and of course the battery terminals. If you're not experienced with electrical repairs you should leave this to a shop. Otherwise, just follow the cables through the engine compartment to each component listed above and remove the bolts / nuts / fasteners to replace the cables.
