I'm at ends. I'm stuck trying to get my starter off my ranger but don't not know how to remove the three bolts that mount the starter. I have all ready removed all the electric hook ups but don't know how to get to the three remaining bolts. Advice on tools to use or any other options?

With front end jacked up you should be able to reach in with a ratchet/socket and remove the moutning bolts.

Comparing your picture to what I see on my truck it appears that it has been replaced before but the bottom two mounting bolts are facing the opposite direction thus pointing the them toward the back of the vehicle and directly into the exhaust that runs just between the starter and the tranny pan. And tips to get the top mount? I've removed the oil filter for a little more wiggle room.

Removing exhaust would be the best bet here
