1999 Ford Ranger 4X4 indicator lights flashing

I was driving on freeway the other day and my 4x4 indicator lights started to flash. Both 4 high and 4 low. They flash ever 20 seconds or so. When I ingage 4x4 it just lights low or high and stops flashing.

Any ideas?

I hate to give you a pat answer, but if your vacuum lines at the top inside of the wheels are OK and no vacuum leaks at the hub, you need to have the codes read. Tires the same size all wheels?
