1998 Ford Ranger heater/air conditioning

I recently bought the truck and now its seem that it will not change from heater to air conditioning. The heater works good and the air condition but it will not switch back and forth. I have to drive with the windows down. Thanks

My daughters truck had similar symptoms, with not being able to regulate temp. It was cold one time and then hot. Eventually stuck on hot. The issue turned out to be a broken blend door, in the plenum. There is a kit available from www. Heatertreater. Net I bought the kit on ebay, and installed it this past weekend. Heater now works fine. If this is your problem, you can save alot of money repairing with this kit. Hope this helps.
