1998 Ford Ranger 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I replaced a rebuilt auto transmission after the truck had been in storage for 2 years. I have replaced a couple sensors, and did a tune-up, but when the transmission shifts into 2ns and 3rd, the speedometer gage, indicator, drops, OD light flashes, and the transmission shift in and out. Once the vehicle shift into OD it drives fine.

I had a similar transmission problem about a year ago with flashing OD and ABS lamps and an erratic speedometer (codes P0500 and P503). I had the rear differential speed sensor replaced and this fixed the problem.

1998 Ford Ranger, 4 cyl, automatic, 170,000 miles
