Brakes problem
1997 Ford Ranger 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 160k miles

My front right tire has completely seized up. I originally thought that it was possibly my Claiper seizing but while looking deeper into the problem, Im afraid its something else. It looks as though something has broke. My caliper has rubbed and dug into the inside of my rim! All the way around the rim! I currently can't remove the tire yet, due to my location. Any ideas on what It might be?

Hi there,

I would be thinking that a wheel bearing had collapsed causing this lockup, you will have to check all components carefully as the heat generated by such a failure can cause other problems with seals etc,

Yea I thought it my be bearings. Because I travel the passes to and from college, and think the heat build up from comin down might have been a factor as well
