I replaced both temp. Sensers, egr valuve. Both times it seemed to solve prob. At that time truck was running. Ck eng. Lite intermit. I would be running 65-70 mph, eng would start flooding, lose power, then pick up and run fine. Every time I replaced a component I beleved problem solved, but not. Iwas driving 55 truck quit as if ign. Turned off will not start replaced driver side coil, fuel press. Regulater and controll mod. No help while f.P.R. Was off fuel in untake pulled plug on pass. Hi mikeosb,

Are you able to pull any codes this time?

Did you check the power supply to coil?

More like a cam or cranksensor problem.

I now know the timing belt broke. What are the chances, the valves are damaged?

Hi mikeosb,

At 50 mph when it broke, the chances of hitting the valves are quite high. Did you hear any abnormal noise when it stopped?

Turn the crankshaft so that the pistons are all not at the top. Remove valve cover and check if any of the valves are lower than the others while fully closed.

Another way to test is to remove rocker arm tension and allow valves to close fully and apply compressed air through the plug holes and test/listen for pressure leak from intake and exhaust manifold.
