1988 Ford Ranger demons in block?

2.3 liter that when first starts, and drives, makes wierd sound. But once The truck gets above 55, and than slows back down, sound is gone. Bent rod perhaps, or maybe stuck vaulve?

Sir -you need to describe this wierd sound-is it a ticking, tapping, thudding, thumping, buzzing, rattling and scraping?

The sound strats off with a clangging, but after it runs for a few seconds it sounds like a pinging sound. Once you take it on the highway, and do over fiffty miles an hour, for a mile or two. And than come to a stop, the sound is gone. But if you turn the truck off and restart it, the sound is back until once again you get it up over fiffty.

What part of the engine is this noise noticeable when you cold start it-
