1984 Ford Ranger fuel pump

I don't know if you can help me we race Ford Mustangs 2.3. We run an electric fuel pumps now they are telling us we have to wire shut off switches to the fuel pumps where when the switch is shut off the fuel pump also shuts down at the same time, they said somthing about wiring also to the oil pump where the fuel pump won't kick on until the oil pressue builds ups how would you do this

Hi racer84,

I have never done this before but I think I can give you some idea.

For the first part, install an on/off switch on the power supply wire to the fuel pump for emergency manual shut off. I believe there are special switches that are installed on the bonnet for cars used in racing and rallies.

For the second part, use the oil pressure switch wire as a grounding point to activate a relay to supply power to the fuel pump.
