Engine Performance problem
1993 Ford Probe 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 201xxx miles

About 2 weeks ago my car started acting a little strange. I have zero issues with it in the last year, but now when I accelerate if I push more then 1/3 down on the gas it starts to act like it is sputtering and bucks a little bit. The engine isnt dying, it seems like it's not getting gas fast enough or something like it. If I let up on the gas the engnie smooths out and I speed up fine. It's not too big a deal unless I need to pass somebody, but it is getting rather annoying. It doesnt seem to be related to anyting else and the car doesnt die, the engine just becomes rather erratic.

When was the last tune up? At that mileage you should be at least on your second or third major tune up.(Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter)Any check engine light? If so have the ecm scanned for codes, this will lead to the problem

Only thing that has not been replaced in the last year is the fuel filter and the dist cap. No check engine light on.

Could be a weak fuel pump. Need to do a fuel pressure test on it to see
