Welding in a Ford Ka2 - to buy or not to buy

I have seen a second hand car I like but it has just had some welding done in the two corners in the boot. It will then pass its MOT. Its from a garage - its a 1998 Ford Ka2 for £750 which is a reasonable price but am a little concerned about welding as I know nothing about cars. Does this mean that it is unlikely to pass a MOT next time?
Is this a good or bad buy?

Your best bet is to either take it to another shop and have them look it over or bring a mechanic there from another shop to look it over. Before you buy.
