Prices

I just went into a tire / car repair place and had my oil changed. They told me while I was waiting that my car needed the fluids changed for my power steering and my power brakes. I don't remember which was which, but one cost me $69.99 and the other $59.99. I was tired, had been waiting already a couple of hours for my oil change and told them to go ahead and do this. I had been up too late the night before and really didn't give this any clear thought; that is, I have no idea what these procedures should cost or what they cost at other auto repair places in my locale. My question: did I get ripped off? Of are these prices representative of such costs in general?

Thank you!

Don't sound too far out of line. It would help if we knew your general locale. Also a year, make and model is good info to share. :)

Brake fluid changes are the most underperformed maintenence in my opinion. Be glad to have it done. Should be about every three years or so. If you don't start you call a tow truck. If you dion't stop you could be calling an ambulance.

Sorry. I am becoming my father. :)
